About us

Medilaabs GmbH is a German manufacturer of melt-blown non woven fabrics used as a filter layer for FFP1, FFP2, FFP3 protective masks, as well as a manufacturer of FFP2 masks themselves. Dr Magdalena Laabs, owner of Medi-Laabs GmbH, supplied, commissioned and implemented the production of dozens of machines for the manufacture of masks and half-masks, so-called Respirators, in 2020 and 2021 with customers from Germany, England, the Czech Republic and Poland.

Due to the lack of meltblown filter fabrics on the market and access to the technology for their production and know-how, Magdalena Laabs decided to launch a special purpose company that specialises in the production of high-quality melt-blown nonwovens.

Our customers test their masks at accredited laboratories, and they get certificates.
Meltblown nonwovens offered by Medilaabs GmbH have passed filtration and air resistance tests in accredited laboratories like: German (DEKRA), British (BSI), Polish (PRS, CIOP) and Turkish (MNA). Medilaabs has test results for Meltblown nonwoven fabric 1 layer 25 gram/m2 with 99.41% filtration, and it meets the standard for the norm for medical masks EN 14683.

Medi-Laabs is currently able to supply raw materials for FFP2 and FFP3 medical masks and respirators, as well as FFP2 masks themselves. The company is able to manufacture customised masks, including those bearing the customer's logo.

An independent accredited laboratory Hohenstein Institute in Germany has confirmed the filtration efficiency of the Medi-Laabs-Melt-Blown non-woven fabric at 99.41%, which allows it to be used in all types of medical masks (I, II, IIR). In July 2020, Medi-Laabs received the OEKO-TEX certificate confirming that melt-blown nonwovens are safe. This certificate confirms the quality of textile products in contact with human skin.
FFP2 masks were also tested on behalf of Medi-Laabs GmbH in the German DEKRA accredited laboratory and meet the EN 149 standard for dust masks - PFE Particle Filtration Efficiency is over 95%. Also, the tested air resistance of FFP2 respirators met the requirements of the standard for FFP2 respirators.

Dr Magdalena Laabs has worked in the plastics processing industry for over 20 years. The experience she has gained has allowed her to quickly implementation of Meltblown nonwovens production and of FFP2 masks' production.
