In recycling of plastics, mechanical drying by centrifugation is drying more effective than thermal drying. Centrifuges in the recycling process are devices that allow you to obtain the appropriate humidity of the shredded material (up to 5% for foil and 2% for hard plastics), ensuring its effective centrifugation from water and allowing for further processing on extruders in the granulation process.

Horizontal centrifuges are easy-to-use, efficient and low-energy devices. The drying process is possible thanks to a high-strength rotor mounted inside, equipped with replaceable blades and sieves. The rotor of the centrifuge carries the material through the device from the inlet side to the outlet port, and rotating at high speed efficiently centrifuges it out of the water. The contaminants and dirty water are then ejected through the perforated screen and collected in the discharge hopper. The configuration of the rotor and screen in conjunction with the speed of rotation determine the cleaning efficiency and the residual moisture of the material.
