Flat heating elements are used in applications where uniform and efficient heating of flat surfaces is required. They are predominantly composed of a wound heating cable and two layers of insulation, which perfectly adapts to the adjacent surfaces. In plastics processing flat heating elements are mainly used for heating extruders heads or molds in hydraulic presses. They are used successfully in other industries, for example, to keep the temperature of materials stored in barrels or other containers.
