Patron heaters are durable and easy to assemble. They are constructed from stainless steel tube or chrome / nickel tube which provides high corrosion protection.
The heating element is a wire wound on a ceramic core. Number of turns depends on power. In order to avoid the short circuit of the heater, they are filled with magnesium oxide and then pressed. Thanks to this construction, it is possible to achieve a power density of up to 50 W / cm² while maintaining the strength and service life of the heater. In the plastics industry, patron heaters are used, among others. in hot-channel systems.
