Tracel® PO 4207 is an endothermic blowing agent in the form of a masterbatch. It is intended for applications in the processing of polyolefins, such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), in extrusion processes. Its decomposition temperature range is from 135°C to 220°C.

Composition and properties

Tracel® PO 4207 contains a mixture of sodium bicarbonate and a citric acid derivative as active ingredients. Additionally, it contains a mineral nucleating agent that helps control the cell structure in the foamed material. It is an endothermic agent, which means that it absorbs heat during decomposition, which allows for better control of the foaming process. The product is also approved for food contact, making it suitable for food packaging applications.
