ANL Plastics, producer of thermoformed plastic packaging for the food and other industries is opening a new production plant in Poland. A favourably developing market and an extensive feasibility study have convinced ANL Plastics to take this step.
The motivation is twofold. On the one hand there was the recurring demand from the existing, mainly multinational customers to be supplied in Eastern Europe, where new production locations were being set up. The good relations between these multinationals and ANL Plastics had an inspirational effect. On the other hand there was a totally new market developing with a large sales potential and a window onto the Eastern European markets.
The primary objective will therefore be the supply of the local market and the expansion of a local activity.
ANL Plastics was looking for a central location that offered the possibility of supporting existing customers in their further development and of supplying a catchment area in the heart of the industry for 100 million potential new consumers.
A 6,000 m2 hall was rented in the city of Dąbrowa, located between Krakow and Katowice. ‘’The choice of this location was motivated by the good road network, utilities, easy, relatively fast accessibility, a technically highly skilled potential workforce and direct access to the Czech, Slovakian and Hungarian markets.‘’, says Joris Vrancken managing director ANL Plastics.
The installation of the machinery starts in September. Startup is planned for the first quarter of 2011. The Polish commercial team, led by Robert Chudzik, has already started prospecting the market. ANL Polska was also present at the two-yearly Taropack trade fair in Poznan.
