By acquiring PSR, which has operated in the field of packaging recycling in Poland since 2002, Interseroh Poland increases its market share to more than 20 per cent. Interseroh Poland has already operated in the field of licensing on the Polish market for eight years and through the acquisition of PSR it becomes the second-largest partner for trade and industry, with approximately 3,300 customers.
"In addition to our path of internationalisation towards Asia, we have always emphasised that we also want to grow in our core markets of Germany and Poland, since these remain particularly important to us. I am therefore very pleased that we have further expanded our market position in Poland in the field of packaging recycling," says dr Axel Schweitzer, chairman of the administrative board of Alba SE.
The acquisition of PSR goes hand-in-hand with the continuation of Alba SE's on-going optimisation process. The planned separation from the holding in the TOM Group, a group in Poland operating in the field of scrap recycling and raw material recycling, announced at the balance sheet press conference in April 2015 as part of this process, has now been completed. The shares have been purchased by shareholder Jaromir Zandecki, 54. He is assuming the Alba stakes in all four companies of the TOM Group. The completion of the sale is still pending the approval of the Polish cartel authorities.
