Austria is the official partner country of 19th EuroMold, World fair for
Moldmaking and Tooling, Design and Application Development, from November
27 – 30, 2012 held in Frankfurt/Main.
Choosing Austria as partner country, EuroMold demonstrates the importance of Austria to the German economy as well as for product development, moldmaking and tooling.
In 2011 at EuroMold 18 Austrian companies presented their products and services. Thus, Austria was among the top ten countries of the exhibition. The partner country will increase the number of exhibitors at EuroMold 2012 and be represented with renowned companies as well as trade associations and research institutions.
Austria is the seventh largest trading partner of Germany. In 2010 the trade volume between Germany and Austria accounted €88 billion. The Southern neighbour plays a major role for the German export. German goods worth € 53.7 billion were sold to Austria in 2010. Thus the Alpine Republic ranks ahead of China and Russia.
In return, Germany is by far the most important trading partner for
Austria. In 2010 Austria exported goods to Germany worth € 34.3 billion and
thus being Germanys the seventh largest import nation.
Next to engineering Austria play a significant role in the plastics sector
with a turnover on €13 billion. Slightly more than half of which is
generated in the region of Upper Austria with 220 plastics companies and
nearly 34,000 employees - one of the main plastics sites in Europe . The
activities of these companies cover the entire process chain and includes,
among other areas, plastics, machinery, tooling and moldmaking, materials,
R&D services and plastics technology services.
