Avery Dennison will introduce four new labeling innovations at interpack

Avery Dennison will introduce… Avery Dennison will introduce four new labeling innovations that enable brand managers and packaging designers to increase product functionality, differentiate their brands and improve shelf appeal at Interpack 2011, May 12-18, in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Avery Dennison will entice visitors to “Think the impossible,” and solution specialists will demonstrate ways to go beyond current boundaries in labeling and packaging creativity.

The company will showcase innovations that integrate eye-catching design with sustainable source reduction and detailed product information requirements. New product innovations at Interpack include:

Avery Dennison Curve Appeal system and Fasson Curvy film labels are designed to embrace complex curved surfaces, creating opportunities for packaging designers to pursue a whole new range of bottle shapes and sizes that promote shelf appeal and brand differentiation, especially for home and personal care products.

Polyphane Fit Roll-Fed Sleeve films offer the sophisticated look, increased shelf appeal and complete, curvaceous coverage of one-step shrink labeling for beverages--all with a recyclable polyolefin film.

Avery Dennison Shrink PS is a new wrinkle-free pressure-sensitive label designed to survive the vacuum-shrink process for meat packaging. Smooth finishing that allows the label to blend into the packaging form and shape, and superior graphics create differentiated packaging.

Avery Dennison Flexis functional packaging solutions control air, steam and oxygen to extend product life and enhance product performance, ease of use, distribution and display of a variety of food and beverage, pharmaceutical and perishable goods.

Flexis Steam valves control the release of steam from food packaging during cooking. The valves allow home-heated packaged foods to cook with greater consistency, more thoroughly and faster than foods in conventional steam release packages.

Flexis Air Two-way valve technology designed for dry and perishable goods delivers safety and logistics benefits to pet food, chemicals and granular materials. The new valve technology allows for the flow of air in and out of the package. This reduces trapped air which can cause irregular packaging sizes, wasted space or ruptured packaging that exposes the contents to the environment.

Flexis Oxygen is a pressure-sensitive valve designed for item-level oxygenation of case-ready beef or pork. The valve reduces the amount of packaging needed for case-ready meat, increases product shelf life and allows meat to bloom faster for shelf display.

Flexis Air One-way Coffee Valves are designed for flexible or rigid containers of ground or whole bean coffee. They allow roasted gases to vent from the container following the roasting process. The valves apply easily, offer superior leak resistance and bond securely to packaging materials.
