Avient Corporation, an innovator of materials solutions, will showcase its portfolio of advanced and sustainable products and services and host three technical seminars at Chinaplas 2025. The annual event is Asia’s leading technology-oriented plastics and rubber trade fair dedicated to helping designers, brand owners, and manufacturers boost the performance, aesthetics, efficiency, and sustainability of their products.
"At Avient, we’re committed to helping the plastics industry follow the latest regulations while enhancing product performance and making manufacturing more cost-effective," says Say-Eng Lee, Vice President and General Manager, Color & Additives Asia at Avient. "We offer a wide variety of colorants and additives, engineered materials, thermoplastic elastomers, color forecasting guides, and expert services, that enable us to better support your success and drive the industry towards a more sustainable and circular economy."
Avient’s colorants and additives showcased at Chinaplas 2025 aim to address several key secular trends and help solve complex challenges, including:
- Options for non-per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (Non-PFAS) and non-halogenated additives in packaging, healthcare, consumer goods, and various industrial materials such as Cesa Non-PFAS Process Aids for polyolefins film and pipette tips and non-halogenated Cesa Flame Retardants Additives for polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fiber applications
- Solutions to help reduce carbon footprint by lightweighting using recycled materials in injection molded and extruded applications for automotive and consumer goods industries, such as Hydrocerol Chemical Foaming Agents developed to reduce material consumption, part weight, and cycle times while maintaining excellent surface finish and eliminating sink marks, and can also serve as nucleating additives in direct gassing foam extrusion processes
- Oxygen scavengers that can enable recycling such as ColorMatrix Amosorb 4020L Shelf Life Extender for PET and recycled PET (rPET) resins can extend the shelf life of food and beverage products in rigid packaging without adverse impact on recycling
Additional highlights at the show include various high-temperature colorants and color services, such as:
- Colorant Chromatics Conductive Formulations: for controlled dispersion and high-quality carbon black to enable high-temperature extrusion and molding processes with higher line speed and no drool for critical applications in the petroleum and the chemical processing industry.
- Colorant Chromatics Transcend Premier Healthcare Colorants: based on polysulfone and PEEK resins with the capability of withstanding up to 1,000 autoclave cycles and high-heat sterilization at 150°C, these colorants are formulated with ingredient materials that have been successfully tested for ISO 10993 biocompatibility and are available in a line of bright and vivid transparent or opaque shades
- ColorForward 2026: an annual color trend forecasting guide for the plastics industry developed based on global societal trends to support the development of impactful aesthetics for new consumer products. It offers a set of 20 color concepts connecting with major developments in society, from alternative energy and artificial intelligence to nocturnal lifestyle
Avient will also showcase the following engineered materials:
- reSound REC Recycled Content Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPEs): based on post-consumer recycle (PCR) for reduced carbon footprint
- Versaflex TPEs: can reduce vibration in consumer goods such as household appliances and power tools by up to 80% compared to traditional thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs)
- NEU Custom Capabilities and NEUSoft Thermoplastics Polyurethanes (TPUs): a series of ultra-soft TPUs for short-term in-vivo applications that are available in custom colors with excellent ultraviolet (UV) stability and barrier properties, offer good elasticity, resistance to abrasions and tears, barrier properties, and melt strength for use in catheter applications, including cardiovascular, intravenous, and other specialty segments
- OnFlex TPEs: offer high thermal, chemical, and mechanical property profiles with low odor for demanding applications in transportation, including OnFlex AF 7210-70 for automotive components with low volatile organic compounds (VOCs), low fog, and lower density compared to previous material grades, plus excellent low-gloss surface finish and soft touch for high-quality aesthetics
- Preperm Low-Loss Dielectric Thermoplastics: developed for telecommunication applications, such as lightweight 5G antennas, with controlled dielectric performance and low transmission losses
