Baerlocher announced the completion of a second phase of expansion at its oleochemical plant in Americana, Brazil. The project enables Baerlocher do Brasil to swiftly supply customers across diverse industries within Latin America.
Since 2013, Baerlocher do Brasil has invested nearly US$ 20 million in extending and enhancing the facility. This first phase of expansion resulted in highly innovative production systems and processes, making the plant one of the most advanced anywhere in the world for stearic acids.
In light of continued high demand and to ensure the reliable availability of high-quality products, the company has now completed a second phase of expansion, leading to a total capacity of over 30.000 ton allowing for more flexibility in operations. This strategic move allows Baerlocher do Brasil to serve Latin American customers of many types and with diverse needs, for instance in the chemicals industry, cosmetics manufacturing, hygiene and cleaning, food processing, and many other areas.
"The plant in Americana plays an essential role in meeting customer needs throughout the world, and is a key hub within our global network of production facilities," states Andreas Holzner, Global Head of the Special Additives Business Unit within the Baerlocher Group. "The decision in favor of a second expansion project reflects the growing market potential of the region, and further cements our position in the Latin American market."
