Braskem breaks the record for polypropylene production in Brazil

Braskem breaks the record… Braskem reached an all-time record for polypropylene production on its Brazilian plants in March.

Being the second resin most used worldwide, polypropylene has several applications, from food product packaging to automotive parts. Braskem's units produced, together, 150,621 tons of PP last month. The previous record, from October 2010, was of 150,270 tons. Braskem has industrial units for PP production in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and Bahia.

According to the good results, the polypropylene plant (PP) in Paulínia (SP) made 32,704 tons of PP in March, a record to the unit as well, which celebrates its fourth anniversary this month. Paulínia plant has total rated capacity of production of 300,000 tons per year. The milestone reached in March forecasts an annual production capacity above the project estimate.
