"That is a medical technology milestone - namely for all involved! Collin could deliver the very first medical line for suture material to Thailand", gladly says Corné Verstraten, CSO Collin. The company could deliver the very first medical line for suture material - a micro extrusion line for the production of mono and multi-filaments - to Thailand!
Moreover, the line developed in close collaboration with the University of Chiang Mai and under the direction of Prof. Dr. Winita Punyodomc as well as Dr. Robert Molloy is the very first of its kind for Thailand. With this, the university is in a position to produce medical sutures for different applications for the first time in this country.
In September 2018, the start-up of the Collin line was successful, now, the next step will follow: the start of production. "The filament line is used for the production of medical products, allowing our partner to produce the newly developed suture filaments according to ISO 13485 on an international level."
All project partners are glad about the result and the good collaboration during the project and about the support provided by the Collin business partner LMS with headquarters in Thailand.
