Global partnership agreement between Rhodia and KCI

Global partnership agreement… Rhodia and KCI have signed a global partnership agreement for marketing KCI`s polymers for conditioning performance in shampoo and shower gel formulations. KCI's recognized high quality Polyquaternium-10 product range will be marketed by Rhodia under the trade namePolycare.

KCI will also increase its Korean manufacturing capacity in the beginning of 2009 answering to the growing demand of the global market.This agreement will allow KCI to benefit from Rhodia`s expertise and knowledge of the personal care market, as well as its global tech-support and commercial network.

With this agreement, Rhodia reinforces its leadership in the conditioning polymer market, becoming the first company to propose a complete portfolio of conditioning solutions that includes guar derivatives (Jaguar), synthetic polymers (Polycare Boost, Mirapol) and now Polyquaternium-10 (Polycare).

Polyquaternium-10 polymers are used in a variety of cosmetic and personal care products, such as shampoos, hair conditioners, shower gels, body washes, liquid soaps and make-up formulations. These polymers provide excellent benefits for formulators and consumers: transparency, foamy texture, wet and dry hair conditioning, and easy-to-process formulations. The Polycare line of Polyquaternium-10 is composed of six grades (Polycare 125, 400, 3000, LR125, LR400 and LR3000) adapted to the different components and "claims" formulations.
