Planned capacity of the new production is over 20 thousand tons per year. Two high-performance compounding lines based on twin-screw extruders of BluePower series were supplied by KraussMaffei Extrusion GmbH (Germany).
The lines having two side feeders and three degassing zones are equipped with up-to-date systems of dosing, pelletizing, cooling and automatic handling of raw materials manufactured in Germany and Russia. To date, the equipment has no analogues in Russia.
"ZE80 x 48D BluePower extruders is the optimal technical solution: the equipment solves the problems of the construction plastics and highly filled materials compounding. It is as reliable as possible in continuous operation and has high capacity," says Alexander Pavlov, General Director of R&P Polyplastic.
Investments in the equipment of Saratov polymer materials plant amounted to over 3.3 million euros. The delivery of the lines to Russia was expected in August 2021, and the start of production, before the end of Q3. However, due to a number of restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the timing had to be adjusted.
Today the installation is proceeding according to the approved schedule. The equipment is arranged in a process chain, and the supply of utilities is being carried out. Commissioning and start-up of the new lines are scheduled for the end of November - beginning of December 2021.
The launch of Saratov polymer materials plant will enable R&P Polyplastic to develop actively not only the markets of thermoplastics, heat and electric conductive compounds, composites for cable industry, but also to increase export supplies.
