KraussMaffei launches smartphone mobile assistant

KraussMaffei launches smartphone… KraussMaffei Technologies GmbH and Technische Informationssysteme GmbH (T.I.G.), Rankwill, Austria, recently signed a cooperation agreement.

The two partners are committed to working closely together to develop, manufacture and market innovative solutions for networking plastics processing machinery and for monitoring production data. Mid-May will see the launch of one of the first products of the cooperation – the new KraussMaffei Mobile Assistant which enables users to check key production data at any time via a smartphone.

KraussMaffei products will be serviced by T.I.G.

“We are delighted that, in T.I.G., we have gained a leading supplier as our cooperation partner in the development of mobile software solutions to monitor our high-performance machinery and production processes,” comments Dr. Karlheinz Bourdon, Head of the Injection Molding Machinery division of KraussMaffei Technologies GmbH.

The special solutions planned for KraussMaffei plastics processing machinery will be based on existing T.I.G. software modules. The products will be marketed under the KraussMaffei brand, but maintained and serviced directly by T.I.G.

“We’re proud to be working with KraussMaffei. This cooperation will give processors an advanced software solution enabling them to use their smartphones almost anywhere in the world to continuously monitor data from the shopfloor,” points out T.I.G. Managing Director and Joint Owner Ing. Wolfgang Frohner.

By mid-May, the joint project will see KraussMaffei launching the new Mobile Assistant. “This application makes production processes completely transparent – from cycle times and reject rates to machine utilization data – so that, wherever they are in the world, plastics processors have production data at their fingertips and can initiate adjustments if necessary. This can certainly be a competitive advantage for our customers,” emphasizes Bourdon.

KraussMaffei’s Mobile Assistant is the ideal smartphone solution for today’s manufacturing world, helping processors keep in touch with the shopfloor at all times. Operation is easy and the data are displayed in a clear, legible format. Customers select the parameters they want displayed and which machines are to be monitored – independent of type, manufacturer, age or location. The Mobile Assistant will make its debut at the KraussMaffei Competence Forum 2011 on May 19, 2011 in Munich.
