MOL Group has provided immediate help to the victims of the earthquakes in Croatia by shipping 50 mobile homes and 6 sanitary containers to Sisak-Moslavina County, being the epicenter of the natural disaster. The aid package worth €125,000 (HRK 950,000) will provide temporary accommodation and sanitation for those homeless families whose lives have been devastated by the earthquakes which measured up to 6.4 on the Richter scale. The first containers already arrived in Petrinja on Friday with the rest arriving next week.
MOL as the largest foreign investor in Croatia feels responsible for all those people who are now in trouble due to the earthquake in Croatia, especially those living in the Sisak region. MOL Group operates an industrial center in Sisak and is therefore familiar with the area where more than a thousand of the company’s employees live. MOL’s immediate action in cooperation with the Croatian Civil Protection Directorate is set to bring relief to those families worst affected by this natural disaster.

Residential buildings have been subject to extensive damage, so adequate housing must be made available to families as soon as possible. Many of them work in agriculture, particularly with livestock, so they need a solution that enables them to stay close to their homes and animals. Therefore, cooperating with the local Civil Protection Directorate, we have provided 50 heated mobile homes and 6 sanitation units for those in need. While reconstruction is in progress, these mobile homes will offer a lifeline to those people who lost their homes” - said József Molnár, CEO of MOL Group.
MOL Group member companies and employees are also actively participating in ongoing aid activities in the areas affected by the earthquake. INA offered €330,360 (HRK 2,500,000 ) in first response aid altogether, of which €66,000 (HRK 500,000) will be donated to the hospital in Sisak and 2 million kuna to organizations and institutions helping in the recovery. INA and its subsidiaries also provided caravans and containers that served as additional temporary accommodation for 100 people. They also offered fuel, disinfectants and gas cylinders while employees actively collected clothing and food delivered to the Croatian Red Cross. INA made available the company’s storage depot in Sisak to the local authorities to store humanitarian aid. At the INA and Tifon service stations in the earthquake-affected area, coffee and bottled mineral water is being provided to rescuers.
INA has also suffered minor damage due the earthquakes in Croatia. However, the production units survived the disaster without any damage and therefore all of INA's operations, hydrocarbon exploration and production, refining, wholesale and retail business divisions continue to run smoothly.
