Messe Düsseldorf, the organiser of the K global plastics fair, has announced a theme of Mobility for the next exhibition taking place in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 16 to 23 October 2013.
It said: “Under the motto of 'Plastics move the world’, numerous aspects of the general theme of mobility will be presented – from lightweight materials in the design of motor vehicles, aircraft and ships via electromobility through to individual mobility and modern leisure behaviour. The spotlight will be on climate-compatible energy and transport strategies as well as on the changes in the worlds of work and leisure thanks to mobile means of communication.”
Other themes at previous K fairs have included Protection, which encompassed plastics in packaging, but also the protective role played by plastics in vehicles and other applications.
The themed events at K 2013 will include special exhibits, daily rounds of discussions involving experts from science and industry, and multimedia. The events will again be organised by the German plastics industry under the overall management of PlasticsEurope Deutschland and Messe Düsseldorf.
Messe Düsseldorf said: “Traditionally, [the themed show] supplements exhibitors’ presentations with forward-looking themes and underpins K Düsseldorf’s unique position as the trend barometer and innovation forum for the entire industry.”
The organiser will send invitiations to exhibitors at the beginning of 2012. The closing date for exhibitor registration is 31 May 2012.
