LyondellBasell announced the addition of Moplen grade HP742U and Moplen grade HP743V to its polypropylene (PP) product portfolio. The new, high-flow, nucleated homopolymer grades that are produced by the LyondellBasell Geelong polypropylene plant in Australia, are selected by customers for the high-speed thin-walled injection molding (TWIM) of housewares and media boxes. In this application, rapid cycle times are required together with consistent performance, low organoleptic properties (odor and taint) and a balanced level of mechanical properties.
"Moplen HP742U and Moplen HP743V are real game changers as customers require an ideal combination of high flowability, stiffness and organoleptic performance," said Robert Moran, Business Manager for LyondellBasell Australia. "Customers report that both products quickly fill the mold due to a high melt flow rate of 90 g/10 min and 120 g/10 min respectively and offer the potential for down gauging and a reduction in cycle time and energy."
LyondellBasell offers a comprehensive PP product portfolio that also includes PP random copolymers with high flowability, transparency and impact resistance, as well as PP impact copolymers that offer high impact resistance at Sub-Zero Temperatures.
