Omya, a global producer of essential minerals and worldwide distributor of specialty materials, has launched a new business specializing in polymer distribution.
Headquartered in Switzerland, Omya Performance Polymer Distribution will combine the company’s existing global polymer distribution footprint with strategic acquisitions to serve a rapidly evolving market.
The new business will be led by Carsten Harms, a recognized expert in polymer distribution with over 30 years’ industry experience.

Omya Performance Polymer Distribution has also announced the acquisition of Distrupol, a leading channel partner in the UK, Ireland and the Nordic countries with recent expansions into continental Europe. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions and is expected to complete in the first quarter of 2025. Combined with its existing European footprint, the addition of Distrupol strengthens the company’s Pan-European presence.
