Krahn Ceramics is exhibiting for the first time at this year's Fakuma in Friedrichshafen, Germany, showing how ceramics and plastics can complement each other. From October 17 to 21, the specialist for innovative projects in ceramic and metal powder processing will be presenting its portfolio and services in Hall B4 at Booth 4206.
The company made its debut in the world of plastics last year at the K trade fair in Düsseldorf. "We are very pleased to be at Fakuma, the world's leading trade event for industrial plastics processing, to showcase our ceramic solutions for the plastics industry," says Dr. Stefan Stolz, managing director of Krahn Ceramics GmbH.
As a specialist for ceramic solutions based on powder injection molding technology, Krahn Ceramics has materials and processing know-how and manufactures individual ceramic compounds for its customers. "With our participation at Fakuma, we would like to show the plastics processing industry a wide range of possible applications for ceramics and how ceramics and plastics ideally complement each other," says Dr. Stefan Stolz. Technical ceramics offer material properties such as durability, hardness, wear resistance, temperature resistance, corrosion resistance as well as electrical properties, making the material suitable for high-performance applications. Already today, ceramics play a complementary role in the plastics industry in applications with aesthetically demanding designs and can be processed as a compound in injection molding just like polymers.
As a former business unit of Krahn Chemie GmbH, Krahn Ceramics has more than 30 years of experience in the field of ceramics and metal processing and, as part of the Otto Krahn Group, can also draw on a network in the plastics industry. The company sees itself as an innovative technology partner along the entire value chain and supports customers from the powder to the finished component. Furthermore, in addition to a technical center for developments of customized ceramic solutions Krahn Ceramics also has its own production line for ceramic injection molding compounds.
