Polish company Can-Pack invests in Finland

Polish company Can-Pack invests… The Managing Board of Can-Pack S.A. decided to set up a production branch in Finland to start a local production of beverage cans to meet the growing needs of customers in Finland and the Baltic countries and to reduce high transport costs incurred by them.

Under this project, with the cost of almost EUR 100 million, a modern and environmentally-friendly factory of aluminum beverage cans 33 cl and 50 cl will be built, with an annual capacity of 1.8 billion cans. In the first stage scheduled for completion in late 2011 and 2012, a production line with the capacity of 900 million cans a year will be installed.

The factory will be located in the town of Hämeenlinna, about 100 km north of Helsinki on the land acquired from the local authorities of Hämeenlinna municipality. The investment will provide approximately 150 new jobs directly at the factory and almost the same under cooperation of local suppliers and carriers.

In parallel with the construction of the factory, Can-Pack Group will actively participate in the recycling of used cans (UBC) as it is in the other countries where the Group has its own factories
