Styron inaugurates new European operating center in Switzerland
Styron Europe GmbH announced on thursday the official opening of its new European Operating Center in Horgen, Switzerland.
Servicing the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, the brand new office building will house more than 70 sales & marketing personnel, as well as supporting functions' employees currently located at The Dow Chemical Company ("Dow") campus in Horgen. Part of Dow until 2010, Styron is an independent company focused on delivering high performance products and innovative thinking to its global customer base in the plastics, rubber and latex business.
"The move to our own European Operating Center marks a significant step for our organization as an independent company," said Marco Levi, Vice President & General Manager of Styron's Emulsion Polymers. "Our expanding operations in the EMEA region will be bolstered by having all of our staff in our own independent facility and fully dedicated to responding to our customers' evolving needs. The establishment of our operations in Horgen also stresses our company's firm commitment to the community in which most of our Swiss-based employees live and work." In addition to its European Operating Center in Switzerland, Styron operates a state-of-the-art Latex Pilot Coater facility in Samstagern. Employees at that facility will remain in location.
