Südpack Verpackungen GmbH & Co. KG, a leading supplier of film packaging solutions for food and medical products, has appointed a new management spokesperson: as of 9th September 2019, Erik Bouts will take over from the previous spokesperson and managing partner, Johannes Remmele. Over the coming months, Remmele will gradually step back from operational management.
“We are delighted to have Erik Bouts, a highly knowledgeable and experienced figure in the packaging industry, as the new management spokesperson for the Südpack Group,” explains Johannes Remmele, a managing partner at Südpack. “With his wide experience in the packaging industry as well as in senior management at global market leaders, he brings with him precisely the qualities that Südpack needs in the coming years, particularly with regards to expanding our business in Europe and overseas. Currently, Erik Bouts is gaining comprehensive insights into our business and our company culture at Südpack, before officially taking up his new position in September.”
Erik Bouts – born in 1961 in the Netherlands – has many years’ international experience in the packaging industry. He worked for the world’s leading producer of glass containers, Owens-Illinois, where he was responsible for, among other things, 35 sites and 8,000 employees. He then moved to the Ball Corporation, which manufactures beverage containers, where he managed 75 sites with 12,000 employees around the globe. Most recently, he was CEO for the industrial paper packaging division at the Mondi Group, where he was responsible for 60 locations worldwide. “I’m delighted to be able to bring my extensive experience in the packaging industry to such a respected and innovative company as Südpack,” says Bouts. “As a technology leader in our segment and with our focus on sustainability, we are optimally positioned to push the internationalisation of our business forward and to conquer new markets.”
From September, Johannes Remmele will gradually step back from operational management. However, as a member of the advisory board, he will retain close ties with the company, and support the management in the company’s strategic expansion. Erik Bouts will jointly manage the Südpack Group together with Carolin Grimbacher and Tharcisse Carl.
