Ticona, the engineering polymers business of Celanese Corporation, is among the worldwide top suppliers of Continental AG and Schaeffler GmbH.
The honored companies will play a decisive role as strategic suppliers to the two companies in the future. The award presentation took place as part of the Premium Supplier Day in Herzogenaurach.
Ticona looks back on many years of a close working relationship with Continental and Schaeffler. Its reliability and innovative potential are now being rewarded: On the occasion of the first joint Premium Supplier Day, Continental AG and Schaeffler GmbH included twelve suppliers in the Premium Supplier Circle – one of these was Ticona. The global manufacturer of high-performance polymers is the only company to be awarded by Schaeffler and Continental in this category.
“As two of the worldwide leading system suppliers and in view of increasing technological demands, Schaeffler and Continental must work together with companies who share our beliefs and fulfill our high requirements”, Maria-Elisabeth Schaeffler stressed the importance of good relations to suppliers in her welcoming address at the Premium Supplier Day. Mutual quality audits are to be recognized and procurement processes are to be facilitated among other things.
Ticona has been a reliable supplier and initiator of innovation for the automobile industry for decades. Ticona materials are excellently suited to use in various alternative fuel systems; they reduce the weight of vehicles for example by substituting metals and are part of state-of-the-art safety systems as well as electronics components.
“The satisfaction of my customers is very important to me – therefore I am all the more delighted by this honor”, said Stefan Diel, Global Key Account Manager for Conti and Schaeffler at Ticona. Maria Ciliberti, Commercial Director for Ticona Europe added: “This award not only recognizes our past collaboration together but also indicates the confidence Conti and Schaeffler have in Ticona to be their plastics supplier of choice for continued innovation and global strategic collaboration in the future. Together, we will achieve even more than we already have, bringing new solutions to the market that save energy and weight while being cost effective. ”
The twelve companies recognized were selected from 400 suppliers based on their fulfillment of the ten criteria laid down in the statement of requirements for Premium Suppliers to the full extent.
