Tomra Sorting Recycling will exhibit its sensor-based sorting systems and latest technologies at Plast Eurasia Istanbul, the largest plastics industry exhibition held annually in Europe.
Plast Eurasia will bring together exhibitors from 45 countries and approximately 60.000 professional visitors from 105 countries at Istanbul Tüyap Fair and Congress Center. Tomra Sorting Recycling will exhibit its Innosort Flake sorting machine and also perform tests with real materials from PET recycling facilities at the fair, which will open its doors for the 29th time between 4 - 7 December 2019 (Hall: 14, Booth No: 1437 A).
Underlining that technologies such as Tomra’s sorting solutions are essential to achieve a truly circular economy by eliminating waste and reusing limited natural resources, Tomra Sorting Recycling Developing Markets Director Tasos Bereketidis said: “Therefore, we continue to work and develop new technologies. We develop new artificial intelligence-based sorting technologies to further enhance the performance of our industry leading sensor-based sorting machines. While Tomra’s machines have been using artificial intelligence since the first days of sorting, we continuously improve these technologies.”
Turkey in second place the plastics industry in Europe
Stating that Turkish plastics industry has the second largest volume in Europe with a total production of approximately 10 million tons, Tasos Bereketidis explained: “According to the information shared by PAGEV, the plastics sector in Turkey has a turnover of around 35 billion dollars. It also ranks sixth in the world with its production capacity. These figures reveal the importance of the plastics industry in Turkey. As Tomra Sorting Recycling, we started offering our products and services to Turkish market through our representatives in 2015. And our sales, service and spare part operations continue through our center in Turkey since 2012. We have over 80 percent market share in optical sorting in the area of recycling in Turkey. This ratio is 100 percent in domestic solid waste.”
Tomra Innosort Flake attracts great attention from our Turkish customers
Turkey and Middle East Sales Manager Serkan Orhan emphasized that the new sorting machine Innosort Flake, which was launched in March 2019, has received great interest from their customers in Turkey. Orhan stated: “Innosort Flake combines material and color perception in one machine. This special machine is able to detect different polymers, including PET, PVC, PP, PE and metal by means of 2 mm polymer detection. This enables the removal of even non-polymer impurities and provides high purity clean pet flakes. Both high capacity, color and material separation at the same time, as well as steady product yields and output product quality meets the expectations of our customers at the highest level. Therefore, we will give a demonstration by doing tests with our customers’ materials at the fair.”
