DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers and Biesterfeld Plastic extend collaboration to Poland. Distributor`s portfolio in the country to include specialty polymers for cosmetics packaging and related applications.With effect from December 1, 2007, DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers (P&IP) has appointed Biesterfeld Polska Sp. Z o.o as its distributor for DuPont Surlyn and other specialty polymers for cosmetic packaging and related applications in Poland. The new agreement is a natural extension of the companies' long-standing partnership in the European cosmetic industry, among many other industry sectors. It also underlines the importance of Central Europe, and Poland in particular, as an attractive growth market for premium packaging solutions.
According to Diego Boeri, business director P&IP Ethylene Copolymers EMEA, cooperation between the two companies combines the strong, local sales coverage and technical expertise of Biesterfeld in injection molding applications with the innovative solutions and downstream-market and specifier access provided by DuPont. - We are happy to extend our collaboration with Biesterfeld to Poland and confident that it will strengthen our position in this growth market - he adds.
DuPont P&IP started its relationship with Biesterfeld in France in 1997. Since then it has been extended to include Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria and, most recently, Turkey in 2005.
According to Marek Parol, general manager of Biesterfeld Polska, the Polish market for packaging polymers is developing particularly quickly. - We are delighted to expand our contribution to this market sector together with DuPont P&IP - he says.
