At the beginning of the year, another two colleagues joined the ranks of the polyurethane team at Biesterfeld Spezialchemie, to help them handle the continued growth in the polyurethane market and ever more complex customer demands. Robert Geffken has taken on the role of Market Manager, and Alexander Bär is the new Product Manager at Biesterfeld.
As polyurethane Market Manager since April 2019, Robert Geffken is responsible for the further strategic development of this segment in Europe. Trained as a commercial chemist, his first professional experience was in project management in the paints and coatings industry, at an industrial coatings manufacturer in North Germany. In 2010, Robert Geffken came to work at Biesterfeld Spezialchemie as a Product Manager for coatings and paint additives. In 2014, he became an Area Sales Manager, responsible for supporting the CASE market sales area in North West Germany. Working in this position, he was able to gather extensive technical expertise in polyurethane, its uses and the specific trends affecting its market.
At the start of 2019, Alexander Bär joined Biesterfeld as polyurethane Product Manager. He graduated with a degree in Chemistry from the University of Hamburg, Germany in 2009. After three years on the scientific staff at the "Institut für Technische und Makromolekulare Chemie" in Hamburg, he spent six and a half years with a globally active manufacturer of seals, sealing systems and bonding systems, working as the Area Sales Manager for Northern Germany, Denmark and the United Kingdom. Alexander Bär's professional career has given him a detailed knowledge of the products involved in polyurethane foam and sealing systems, and the applications in which they are used.
