Plastiweber, one of Brazil’s largest flexible plastic recyclers, will showcase at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe 2025 its 100% post-consumer recycled resins, which have guaranteed traceability and proven socio-environmental impact. The event takes place in Amsterdam on April 1st and 2nd, and the goal of the Brazilian company is to explore the European packaging market.
“We need to stay updated on the industry’s tendencies and challenges. The Brazilian market has unique characteristics, and we want to introduce our solution to companies in other countries to expand its application in new products and packaging. We have high technical capacity to produce resins and semi-finished films, offering a level of quality and performance that can add significant value to the current demands of the European packaging market”, says Lucas Pellenz, Head of Business Development at Plastiweber.
The company will present three types of resin at PRS 2025, including the innovative Blue Ocean resin, made from plastic waste collected within 50 kilometres of the Brazilian coastline. Plastiweber’s resins are produced with a focus on a circular economy ecosystem. The Green Cycle product line guarantees 100% Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) resins that meet various technical requirements with consistency, scale, and high technical complexity.
Plastiweber performs plastic upcycling, transforming waste into high-value-added products. The European market generally manages to incorporate only 30% PCR content in these applications, while Plastiweber already works with 60%, or more, PCR content.
“While in Europe recycling often limits itself to the production of basic items, with less technical requirements. In Brazil we are able to transform recycled plastics into packaging for primary use. This demonstrates the potential of our solutions. Plastic is no longer just a local issue, but a global one that requires collaboration and international partnerships.”, explains Pellenz.
With different grades of Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) available, Plastiweber offers customized options for various applications. Each grade is designed with a specific set of properties, such as flow index, density, and strength, allowing plastic processors to choose the most suitable option. PCR resins offer mechanical properties comparable to virgin resins.
Recycling as an added value
For every ton of recycled plastic, Plastiweber and its partner brands help reduce 2,000 kilograms of greenhouse gas emissions, decrease the use of 1,190 liters of oil, save 3,020 kilowatts of electricity, and reduce the consumption of 7,892 liters of water.
Plastiweber operates within a circular ecosystem that connects people, communities, and businesses in a virtuous cycle that generates jobs, promotes social inclusion, and reduces environmental impacts. In 2024, the company recovered over 12.1 million plastic packaging items through socio-environmental programs, impacting 16 municipalities in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, where the company’s headquarters is located.
All resins are produced with 100% recycled content, primarily sourced from flexible films collected from cooperatives, supermarkets, and waste management organizations.

Types of resins
Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) PCR MT25 is an ideal option for the production of flexible packaging, stretch films, sacks, tubes, and sheets. With a crystal-clear color and good processability, it ensures high performance in both tubular and flat extrusion.
Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) PCR MT07 is a versatile solution for shrink films, printed packaging, and shrink wraps. Its brownish color and fluidity facilitate processing in common LDPE extruders, ensuring high-quality visual production.
Finally, Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) PCR HT05 was developed for flexible packaging requiring good adhesion in shrink films. With a crystal-clear color, it is easily processed in conventional extruders, providing a sustainable solution without compromising the performance of the final product.
