ColepCCL expands aerosol can manufacturing to Poland

ColepCCL, the largest European contract manufacturer of aerosol and liquid products in personal care, cosmetic, over-the-counter pharmaceutical and household categories, and a leading supplier of tinplate and plastic packaging solutions, expands its Metal Packaging activities to Poland.

The investment includes a state-of-the-art, fully automated line, installed in its Polish site located in Kleszczów, which assembles tinplate aerosol cans at a rate of 450 cans per minute. Further investments in printing and components production have also been made at its Vale de Cambra site in order to support the Metal Packaging operations in Poland. With this investment the company have been able to significantly increase its european offer and clearly consolidate its position as the third largest aerosol can producer in Europe.

- The expansion in Poland will support the growth of our packaging business, offer customers further benefits in terms of proximity to market and service, utilise the experience of our portuguese operations and further integrate with Contract Manufacturing and will give a better position our Metal Packaging operations in the heart of Central/Eastern Europe - explain the company`s representatives.

Since the initial construction of the Kleszczów plant in 1999, the aim of the ColepCCL has always been to integrate its filling operations with the can making activities. - The 85000 m2 facility allows us not only to continue the growth of our filling activities, but also expand our can making operations which will give us future opportunities to install aerosol component making machinery and further printing facilities on the site - adds the representatives of ColepCCL.

The new line is fully automated and allows assembly of cans with diameters of 49mm and 52 mm. Dependant on future demand it is possible to install other diameters such as 65 mm. The printed sheet along with the can components will continue to be manufactured in portuguese plant. Construction of the new facility in Poland started in May 2007 and was completed in December 2007.

ColepCCL is a pan-European group with facilities in Germany, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the United kingdom. The group had sales of 375 million euro in 2007 and employs 2,100 people throughout Europe.

ColepCCL has supported this product innovation by providing the suitable application. Nivea Visage Oxygen Power is packed in a bag-on-valve system which perfectly contains, protects and dispenses the product. It is manufactured and filled by ColepCCL at its Laupheim site in Germany.
