Dr Stephan Glander starts as new CEO of Biesterfeld AG

Dr Stephan Glander starts…

Dr Stephan Glander (54), with effect of 1 April 2023, has taken over as CEO of the Biesterfeld Group, one of the leading international distributors of plastics, rubbers and specialty chemicals.

On his start as CEO, Dr Stephan Glander says: "I would like to thank the Biesterfeld family, the Supervisory Board, and, above all others, Chairman of the Supervisory Board Dirk J. Biesterfeld for their trust and the already very open lines of communication. Biesterfeld has a strong foundation of values and is a true global player. Successfully and decisively forging the way into the future in an increasingly challenging market environment is an exciting task full of responsibility. I am really happy to get started and to get to know the company and, above all, the people. I am very much looking forward to working with my colleagues on the Executive Board and the entire Biesterfeld team, as well as with our customers, suppliers and with our other partners."

Before joining Biesterfeld AG, Dr Stephan Glander served as CEO of BYK, a leading global supplier of specialty chemicals and a subsidiary of the Altana Group. At the family-owned company Altana, Glander was a member of the Executive Management Committee. Prior to that, Glander, who holds a doctorate in chemistry, also held various management positions at renowned international chemical producers and plastics processors, including Röchling, Quadrant (Mitsubishi Chemicals) and Bayer AG. As a member of the Supervisory Board, Dr Stephan Glander advises, among others, Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH, one of the oldest family-owned companies in Germany.
