22nd Fakuma distinguished with numerous premieres and high levels of internationalism.Whether innovative injection moulding technologies or new tempering processes, bioplastics or wood-reinforced plastics with antibacterial attributes, unconventional and creative engineering solutions or individualised material recipes, energy-saving production processes or efficiency increasing automation is involved – the 22nd Fakuma international trade fair for plastics processing once again presented expert visitors from all over the world with more than just the current state-of-the-art in the field of industrial plastics processing. With injection moulding, extrusion and thermoforming, as well as derivatives like micro injection moulding, sintering and eroding processes, Fakuma 2012 was once again characterised by highly beneficial developments in all applications for modern plastics.
All of this, as well as impressive figures such as roughly 1700 exhibitors from 35 countries around the world and continuously increasing internationalism – 31% of the 44,176 exhibitors came from outside of Germany – justifies Fakuma’s renewed claim to its ranking of leading plastics trade of the year in 2012.
Living up to this claim lastingly is the stated goal of private trade fair promoters P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG. Involved with the development, organisation and promotion of technical trade fairs and technically oriented public exhibitions for 50 years, the company presents Fakuma as one of its well established flagships.
With roughly 1700 exhibitors, it was even possible to come very close to the record breaking numbers achieved in boom year 2008. Under the prevailing circumstances with regard to the difficult situation in several Euro countries which has resulted in stagnating to declining markets in Southern Europe, this can be seen as a clear indicator of the robustness of the plastics industry, and of the great importance of Fakuma as a global business platform as well.
Incidentally, this was also made apparent by numerous “Sold!” signs, so that Fakuma can once again be classified as an “order placing trade fair”, which is somewhat unusual these days with regard to the procurement of capital goods. Comparatively large numbers of representatives from renowned exhibiting companies of all sizes had very positive things to say about the mix of highly international expert visitors.
On the one hand, the exhibitors were able to greet regular as well as new customers from both inside and outside of Germany. On the other hand, Fakuma presented itself as usual as a “working trade fair”, because a large percentage of expert visitors with concrete tasks attended the event, for which solutions and the resultant investments were discussed directly at the decision-making level.
The fact that Fakuma, as a time-tested, targeted, highly practical and business-oriented international trade fair for plastics processing, has retained its personal family character right up through today, is considered an absolutely positive factor by Ulrich Eberhardt, chairperson of the exhibitor advisory committee and managing director of motan-holding gmbh: “Fakuma has been, is and will remain an outstanding platform for leading companies in the plastics industry for the presentation of comprehensive, innovative offerings covering all aspects of injection moulding and extrusion to national and international expert visitors . Fakuma is an information and communication forum, a source of new ideas and a trend barometer for the plastics industry.”
Dipl.-Ing. Helmut Gries, sales and marketing manager at gwk, expressed similar sentiments: “Based on our highly authoritative trade fair reports, on Wednesday we were able to break all previous records for visitor numbers on any given day at all of our Fakuma appearances – and we’ve been exhibiting right from the very beginning!”
The next Fakuma international trade fair for plastics processing will take place once again at the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Centre on Lake Constance where Germany, Austria and Switzerland meet from the 14th through the 18th of October, 2014.
