Faurecia invests in Poland

Faurecia invests in Poland Global automotive plastics parts manufacturer Faurecia announced it intends to invest almost €10m to expand its interior systems complex in Poland to produce components for Volkswagen.

The French group plans to extend its interior parts complex in Gorzów Wielkopolski, in the Kostrzyn-Slubice Special Economic Zone. Faurecia is currently buying land in the Malgorzata Zieba area where it wants to construct a new plant to turn out parts for the new VW Golf VII, the group said.


Nanterre, France-based Faurecia expects to start up production at its new facility during 2012. Local press reports quote a Faurecia executive as indicating the investment should create another 55 jobs.

News of this project comes less than three months after the French supplier announced a similar scheme to expand another of its production units at Gorzów. This time, Faurecia means to purchase two new production lines and a paint shop to turn out new products - dashboards and door panels for the new Mercedes-Benz S-class and for Volvo.

This growth in production will require further investments in the firm’s local infrastructure including greater manufacturing floor space, logistic system improvements, warehouse construction as well as more work shop and office space, according to the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency Pailz.

It said the investment is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013 and is due to create 10 new jobs.
