Investment for the future: SOL - Speed of Logistics

Investment for the future:…

With its SOL process - Speed of Logistics - Hasco is able to offer its customers excellent availability combined with a high level of automation to ensure fast and punctual delivery of the company's entire portfolio. To do this, the Lüdenscheid-based company invested in a highly modern, fully automatic small parts warehouse, which, after 12 months of construction, went into service in July 2023.

Robots move as if by magic in angular paths. White LED digits indicate that they are in service simultaneously. The robots, which move in all directions, follow an intelligent, logistically devised, NC-controlled system - completely networked with an operating time of nearly 100 percent. Even in the breaks, the mobile helpers continue to work as long as they constantly recharge with electrical energy on the integrated recharging stations. The company’s logistic ventricle has been constructed over a number of floors - a fully automatic system with which Hasco reinterprets the elementary topic of logistics: SOL - Speed of Logistics.

4,000 ordered items are picked every day

The new storage capacity has 24,000 boxes, each with a maximum loading weight of 35 kg. The logistic tasks are performed by 20 robots, which ensure that up to 720 deliveries are fed every hour to the picking work stations - so-called ports. There are a total of four ports. Three of them are available for the customer-specific picking of the more than 100,000 Hasco products that can currently be supplied - from a small O-ring to a hot runner nozzle. The other port is used for storing incoming goods. On average, up to 4,000 different ordered items are picked by trained staff every day.

Taking precautions against fire is another important criterion for uninterrupted delivery. The fire protection concept has been newly devised. The use of a sprinkler unit was eliminated as a solution because, although it would extinguish a fire, the stored material could easily be destroyed by the high temperatures and corrosion. Instead, the oxygen content was reduced in the completely screened-off, fully automatic small parts warehouse to merely 14.7 percent - a figure at which a naked flame has no chance.

Hasco has been able with its SOL system to raise its ability to supply across the entire product range to nearly 100 percent. In the day-to-day practice of the logistics team, ‘just-in-time’ means satisfying the needs of the Hasco customers in full, with the focus on care, passion and speed.
