KraussMaffei Berstorff presented its solutions for tire producers

KraussMaffei Berstorff presented… Almost 70 representatives of international tire producers attended the KraussMaffei Berstorff plant tour in Hannover on 16 February 2016 in order to take a closer look at state-of-the-art extrusion solutions for the production of tire components. On this occasion, visitors were given the opportunity to experience a live demonstration of assembly and manufacturing processes and to convince themselves of the uncompromising quality standards applied.

System competence is convincing

"The plant tour was an ideal opportunity for our customers and partners to gain an in-depth insight into KraussMaffei Berstorff's diversified extrusion equipment manufacturing capacities," says Uwe Wagner, Head of the Rubber Division at KraussMaffei Berstorff. "Special focus was placed on our sophisticated design concepts and extensive package solutions for the production of passenger car and truck tire components."

Customers from all over the world took this unique opportunity to inform themselves in detail about the entire extrusion line manufacturing process – starting with the metal machining of screws, barrels and dies, the preassembly of individual sub-assemblies up to the final assembly of complete extrusion units. The entire machinery range and the individual process steps involved were explained in depth.

The presentation of the newly structured manufacturing process was another key aspect of the plant tour. Thanks to the segmentation of assembly operations by sub-assembly type and the formation of specialized teams for individual sub-processes, the workflows involved could be substantially improved.

Multiplex lines for up to 30,000 treads per day

Several Multiplex extrusion lines in the final assembly workshop furnished ample proof of KraussMaffei Berstorff's unparalleled competence. "KraussMaffei Berstorff has been building extrusion lines composed of up to six extruders - all connected to a single extrusion head - for several years," explains Uwe Wagner. "Owing to the modular design, these lines can be easily adapted to the desired profile cross-section." The high-performance Multiplex lines are designed for large-scale production, offering outstanding energy efficiency as well as uncompromising flexibility to tackle even the most challenging requirements of tire producers.

"Thanks to the extensive information we provided on KraussMaffei Berstorff's state-of-the-art extrusion technology, our customers are now well prepared for future investment decisions," declares Uwe Wagner highly satisfied with the event.
