Sidel inaugurated a new training lab at its Parma site, dedicated to the manufacture of fillers and end-of-lines for liquid foods.
Thanks to new spaces with high-tech equipment, Sidel is enhancing its classroom and hands-on training services for customers and Group experts, on its range of standard or aseptic fillers, all the way through to end-of-line equipment.
The Parma site is already home to one of the Sidel Group’s main training centers, along with Octeville (France), Atlanta (USA), Beijing (China), Mexico (Mexico), Sao Paulo (Brazil) and Kuala Lumpu (Malaysia) and welcomes customers from around the world every day. Nearly 200 training sessions are taught each year by multilingual expert trainers, with more than 1,000 customers-trainees trained yearly within the training center of Parma.
Until now the Parma site has been equipped with classrooms aimed mainly at theoretical learning, including a “virtual reality” room using innovative technologies that allow trainees to interact with projected models. Now the site has invested to expand its training center, with the aim of helping customers acquire hands-on knowledge by letting them deal with real situations on machines and sub-assemblies.
An extra 150 square meters of space has therefore been added, across from the Parma Training Center, to house the new lab, which is equipped with the latest generation of standard or aseptic sub-assemblies for these hands-on operations. This new space is composed of three dedicated zones:
- The first room is hosting two automation training stations: a Fanuc robot model for the training of robot operators and maintenance technicians, a teaching carrousel and test tables for the configuration of filler and mixer sub-assemblies.
- In the adjacent room, the second space is dedicated to training on Sensofill FMa and FMm aseptic fillers. It includes a demonstration station with filling, washing and rinsing units. This space also demonstrates aseptic instruments and components. –
- Finally, the third training zone is dedicated to the different types of filling technologies and valves.
“With this new training lab we expand our training offer in order to respond better to the needs of our customers and our technicians and to increase the quality of services offered by the Parma Training Center. It also constitutes a global Center of Excellence dedicated to the development of technical competences and products,” states Luigi Armani, Central Training and Technical Competence Development Director.
With 40 years of experience, the Sidel Group’s training centers offer customers tailor-made training programs, helping them maintain and improve their production lines. Whether for operators, maintenance technicians, mechanics, supervisors or production managers, Sidel provides indispensable support, thanks to time-tested methods.
To this end, Sidel is also investing in the expansion of its Beijing Training Center, which is scheduled to open in the second half of 2011.
