From Silver in 2023 to Platinum this year - the film manufacturer now ranks among the top 1% of all companies rated by EcoVadis. Since its founding in 2007, the renowned rating platform has assessed more than 150,000 companies across 250 industries and 185 countries in terms of sustainability. Only the top 35% receive medals, ranging from Bronze to Platinum. The EcoVadis methodology is based on internationally recognized sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the UN Global Compact, and ISO 26000.

In the 2025 rating, Südpack improved its performance by approximately 30% compared to 2023. Its score of over 90 out of 100 points in the “Environment” category was particularly impressive, reflecting the company’s comprehensive environmental policies and external certifications. EcoVadis also awarded Südpack an exceptionally high score for its effective implementation of sustainability measures derived from these policies and certifications. It also excelled in the “Labor and Human Rights” category, earning a rating of well over 80 percent. This strong performance was largely due to numerous initiatives and measures that Südpack has either launched or already implemented, supported by certifications such as ISO 45001 and SA8000. These efforts range from health protection and occupational safety to antidiscrimination policies and the prevention of child labor. Thanks to its dedicated efforts, Südpack also improved its “Sustainable Procurement” score by 50% compared to 2023.

Achieving Platinum status confirms that sustainability and corporate responsibility are deeply embedded across the entire company group and its value chain. It also reflects Südpack’s clear sustainability goals, which are outlined in its ambitious “Sustainability Leadership” strategy - and consistently pursued. “EcoVadis enables us to set industry standards for environmental and social responsibility, position ourselves as a high-performance business partner, and create long-term value for all stakeholders,” emphas Südpack’s Managing Director, Erik Bouts.
