World’s largest plastics recycling event opens in Amsterdam next week

World’s largest plastics recycling…

The world’s largest event dedicated to plastic recycling - Plastics Recycling Show Europe - will take place next week at RAI Amsterdam, on April 1-2.

The PRS Europe trade show and conference attract thousands of professionals from the entire plastic recycling value chain - both from Europe and beyond. This year’s edition will be held in the prestigious RAI halls - Hall 1 and Hall 5 - which have been expanded to accommodate a record number of 500 exhibitors.

The number of Polish recycling companies attending the trade show has been increasing year by year, highlighting the growing role of our country in the European plastic recycling value chain. The editorial teams of Plastech and Plast Echo will also be present, and during the event, the international issue of Plast Echo magazine - a special English-language edition prepared for participants from outside Poland - will be distributed.

During the two-day conference, over 65 experts will discuss the latest political, legislative, market, and technological changes in the recycling industry. The inaugural session will feature a speech by Teresa Ribera Rodríguez, Vice-President of the European Commission for the Green Deal and Competitiveness. She will be joined by Marieke Koekkoek, a member of the Dutch House of Representatives (Volt Nederland), and Ton Emans, President of Plastics Recyclers Europe.

A newly confirmed speaker in the “Unlocking PPWR” session is Wolfgang Trunk, leader of the Competitive Circular Economy and Clean Industrial Policy team at the European Commission’s DG Environment. He will share the European Commission’s vision for the circularity of plastic packaging. Experts from leading brands such as Aldi, Beiersdorf, Hyundai, IKEA, and Procter & Gamble will also participate in the conference.

The AI Innovation Hub thematic area will showcase the latest applications of artificial intelligence in plastic recycling. Visitors will be able to trace the entire process – from raw materials through design, collection, processing, to material recovery - through informational boards and video presentations. During the event, a swarm robotics sorting demonstration and a recycling data-based AI game will debut.

The winners of the Plastics Recycling Awards Europe 2025 in seven categories will be announced during the event on April 2, and all nominated products and projects will be on display. All finalist solutions have been developed in Europe and contain at least 50% recycled plastic.

After a very successful debut in 2024, the PRS Europe Boat Party returns this year - a unique evening event to be held on April 1.

Plastics Recycling Show Europe gathers key players from the plastics and recycling industries, providing a platform to showcase innovative technologies, exchange experiences, network, and engage in business discussions. Representatives from all sectors of the industry are present: manufacturers of recycling machinery and equipment, providers of AI-based sorting technologies, suppliers and compounders of plastics, companies preparing materials for recycling, mechanical and chemical recyclers, waste management experts, and industry organizations. In 2024, a record 11,000+ participants from across Europe and more than 80 countries attended PRS Europe. Today, Plastics Recycling Show events are held worldwide - in Amsterdam, Dubai, Mumbai, and Singapore.
