Albis Plastic GmbH expands its healthcare product portfolio by adding Texin RxT TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer) types from Covestro AG.Texin RxT is particularly well suited to many fields of applications in medical technology, laboratory and diagnostics - such as the production of tubes, catheters, housing parts, soft-touch handles, as well as many other applications.
The material possesses the same mechanical properties as the well-known Desmopan products from Covestro AG. Particular highlights include its tensile strength, abrasion resistance, elasticity and shock-absorbing properties. Its good resistance to hydrolysis and microbes, chemical resistance and transparence predestine the product for use in the field of healthcare.
Texin RxT is available in several hardness levels (Shore A70 - D65) and, unlike some conventional rubber or PVC products, does not contain any softeners, which can cause problems such as incompatibilities.
An extensive regulatory service package rounds out the offer. It includes assurance of a consistent formula as well as confirmations of food compatibility as per FDA and biocompatibility e.g. USP Class VI or ISO10993-1.
The corresponding requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia (EP) are also fulfilled. The service package is completed by comprehensive change management to handle any inevitable product changes.
