First Allrounder in Malaysia in 1989
Arburg's activities in Malaysia began as early as 1989 with the sale of the first two Allrounders. One of these was sold to what is now Today’s Plastics Industries Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur, whose owner, Mr. Woon Then Yew, was among the guests at the event. As the Malaysian market developed very quickly and positively in the subsequent years, Arburg opened a subsidiary of its own in 1992. "This was a significant milestone for us and marked an important step towards the successful development of our company in the Asian region," said Gerhard Böhm. Just four years later, the company moved to new premises, doubling the usable area to 250 square metres and expanding the range of services. "In addition to the performance of the Allrounder, customers also appreciate our comprehensive know-how and our extensive range of services and consulting," said the Managing Director Sales, drawing attention to the telephone hotline, the expert service technicians, the spare parts store, the showroom and the training options available at the Malaysian subsidiary
Arburg represented in all industries
Initially, Arburg's customers were mainly small family-run businesses that worked with between 10 and 20 machines. Over the past decades, many global players have also invested in Malaysia, with a view to produce plastic products there. The machine fleets now comprise between 50 and 100 Allrounders, enabling high-quality plastic parts to be produced for the packaging, medical technology and automotive industries, as well as for the electrical and electronics sector. Northern Malaysia in particular is increasingly developing into a centre for medical technology, with the manufacture of disposable medical items and equipment."Arburg Customer Awards" presented
