GCR Group is a Spanish company leader in Europe and worldwide reference in the development, production and marketing of high-quality and environmentally-efficient plastic compounds and mineral masterbatches for the plastic industry. With a high international presence - 80% of the sales are exported - and a production of more than 200.000 tones/year, this is the first time that GCR Group has attended Plastpol (Kielce, Poland).The company wanted to secure and increase the European and international presence by attending the most important fair of Poland in hall C, stand 45, where its three business units were shown: Granic, Ciclic and Irtion. Granic is the European leader and world reference in the manufacture, development and commercialization of Calcium Carbonate and Talc masterbatches. These concentrates are worldwide known for its high mineral content (until 85%) and the possibility of dosing them in high concentrations in plastic formulations (PE, PP, PS and ABS). Adding Granic improves the mechanical properties and the sustainability of the final product while reducing costs, as it is cheaper than virgin polymer. At the top of that, the converters that use Granic consume less energy as the mineral fillers increase the thermoconductivity of the polymer, so it melt faster and requires less energy. The company also produces Ciclic, the leading brand in West Europe in the manufacture of high-quality PE and PP industrial compounds. Finally, Irtion is the Group's technology division, a test centre for the technological improvement and performance of GCR Group's products.
Thanks to their high-quality and benefits, Ciclic and Granic are present in more than 75 countries all over the world. The company is always developing new products like a masterbatch specialty for extrusion coating or a mineral filler concentrate which avoids the mineral migration at acid pH, a good valued characteristic in thermoforming and blow moulding applications for the food market. GCR Group has a product for each application, emphasizing specially on film (for bags, hygienic, agricultural), pipe, irrigation hoses, blow moulding, sheet extrusion, raffia and injection.
Environmentally friendly GCR Group has an active environmental commitment perceptible in the development of its ecological plastics compounds with mineral fillers 100% recyclable. Moreover, Granic and Ciclic have low carbon footprint certification and all the energy used comes from renewable sources. The company has recently moved to La Bisbal del Penedes (Tarragona, Spain), which is less than 30km away from the 95% of the suppliers, reducing even more the CO, emissions.
