Italy at Chinaplas

Italy at Chinaplas

The thirty-seventh edition of Chinaplas (Shenzhen, 15-18 April 2025) will feature around forty Italian companies in the nearly 1,300-square-metre national pavilion organised by Amaplast, the trade association representing approximately 170 manufacturers of machinery, equipment, and moulds for plastics and rubber.

The Made in Italy pavilion, centrally located in Hall 10 alongside other international exhibitors, will host numerous Amaplast member companies, including: Amut, Cemas Elettra, CMG srl, Colines, Color Service, Crizaf, Fimic, Frigosystem, Gefran, Helios Italquartz, ICMA San Giorgio, IPM, ITIB Machinery International, Maris, Mixron Moretto, MOSS, OMG srl, Omipa, Omso, PLAS MEC, Previero/Sorema, Rodolfo Comerio, SACMI Imola, Union and Zambello Riduttori.

In addition, dozens of other Italian companies will be represented at the stands of their local branches or agents.

Italy’s strong and long-running presence at this major trade fair reflects the strategic importance of the Chinese market for the industry. In 2024, Italian exports of machinery, equipment, and moulds for plastics and rubber to China reached an all-time record of nearly 190 million euros - a 15% increase compared to 2023 - putting China in fifth place among destination markets for Italian exports in the sector.

A growing share of these exports consists of high-tech machinery that Chinese manufacturers are not yet able to produce independently - although this gap is gradually closing.

According to the latest edition of Ingenium - the Confindustria report studying the global potential of Italian capital goods - the Chinese market currently shows the greatest potential for absorbing more exports of Made in Italy machinery. While the United States and Germany remain respectively the two most advanced markets, both are grappling with challenges and an overall climate of uncertainty. In this context, new opportunities seem to be opening up for supplying China with highly automated, innovative, and technologically advanced Italian products.
