Energy Efficiency Award for… The newly established Arburg Energy Efficiency Award was presented for the first time on 14 October 2008 as part of the Fakuma. The prize, which is awarded in recognition of special efforts in the area of energy efficiency, was presented to WAGO Kontakttechnik in Minden.

The exclusive event was attended by around 40 invited guests. Michael Hehl, Managing Partner and Spokesperson for the Arburg Management Team, presented the award to WAGO`s Managing Director Ulrich Bohling. - With this award, we would like to show our appreciation every year for companies who, like us, take an innovative, holistic and global approach to the subject of energy efficiency and who stand out on account of their corporate philosophy and activities - said Michael Hehl in his welcoming address.

- The decision to present the award to WAGO Kontakttechnik was based to a major extent on the company`s clear ideas and requirements for production equipment and for injection moulding machines in particular, as part of their drive to achieve energy-efficient production. The main focus lay on electric machines, energy consumption, reduced cycle times and fewer reject parts, as well as the improvement of product quality - explained Herbert Kraibühler, Managing Director Technology & Engineering at Arburg.

Managing director Ulrich Bohling accepted the award on behalf of WAGO and thanked Arburg: - This makes us allthe more proud that our energy-efficiency measures have received recognition from Arburg and it is with great pleasure that we accept this award.

The theme of energy efficiency was rounded off by a speech by Jan-Udo Kreyenborg, who, in his capacity as Chairman of the German Machinery and Plant Manufacturers Association (VDMA) for plastics and rubber-processing machinery, explained the current and future activities of the VDMA.
