General Plastics Receives… Tacoma, WA (PRWEB) February 04, 2012

General Plastics Manufacturing Company today announced that it has received a 2011 Boeing Performance Excellence Award. The Boeing Company issues the award annually to recognize suppliers who have achieved superior performance. General Plastics maintained a Silver composite performance rating for quality and delivery each month of the 12-month performance period, from Oct. 1, 2010, to Sept. 30, 2011.

This year, Boeing recognized 529 suppliers who achieved either a Gold or Silver level Boeing Performance Excellence Award. General Plastics is one of only 407 suppliers to receive the Silver level of recognition.

“Receiving this sought-after recognition makes it very clear that General Plastics does not take its relationship with Boeing for granted, even after half a century,” said President Bruce Lind. “What allows us to consistently attain such high standards is a relentless focus on quality, novel solutions based on proprietary formulations, and the ongoing commitment of every employee to meeting our customers’ needs.”

General Plastics supplies flight deck and cabin interior components to Boeing for all models of the 737, 747, 767, 777 and 787 aircraft. The company produces high-strength, lightweight, flame-resistant composite core materials and “edge close-out“ for honeycomb structures. These products are used in Boeing’s aircraft flight deck pads, passenger cabin walls and ceilings, passenger compartment overhead stow bins, service-class divider partitions, food-service galleys, and lavatories. Boeing also relies on General Plastics’ extensive experience with polycarbonate and acrylic sheets for aircraft passenger windowpanes and wingtip-lens transparencies.
