Intelligent extruder concepts at Interplastica 2012

Intelligent extruder concepts… During the Interplastica Symposium "Coextrusion of PVC window profiles" at the Moscow Exhibition Center on January 25, 2012, KraussMaffei Berstorff will provide information on intelligent extruder concepts together with different and premium quality coextrusion solutions for economical window profile extrusion.

KraussMaffei Berstorff is also extending its presence on the Russian market for pipe extrusion with technologically advanced line concepts.

During the Symposium entitled Coextrusion of PVC window profiles: new economical solutions, customers and interested parties will be able to obtain information on new, intelligent coextrusion concepts from KraussMaffei Berstorff. Processing companies, especially in Russia, are faced with constantly rising material costs, but also with stagnating profile selling prices. As a result, there is a greatly increasing trend towards the use of recyclates and cost-effective materials, and therefore towards the use of coextrusion solutions.

"We have the right extruders for our customers since our screw concept is ideally suited to processing of recyclates, highly filled materials and tailor-made formulations to reduce profile costs", said Peter Oswald, Head of the Profile Product Group at KraussMaffei Berstorff. "We also offer a wide range of space-saving coextrusion models which ensure extremely flexible production."

Especially in window profile production, cost-effective material mixtures or recyclates are often used for the invisible core; the thin outer layer of the profile is made of new colorfast material. KraussMaffei Berstorff supplies different coextrusion models which can easily be mounted over the main extruder and moved in two axes, for example the combination of a basic extruder from the 32D series with conical twin-screw extruders.

Conical twinscrew extruders can also be quickly moved as stand-alone models, thus allowing flexible injection from a wide range of positions into the coextrusion mold. Topics such as formulation development, quality improvements and market trends will also be discussed during the Symposium. The coorganizers of the Symposium also include renowned companies from the profile industry, for example Greiner Extrusion, Bärlocher and Omya, which are being supported by the Okna Media Agency.
